Water Quality Lab

Water Quality

The Tampa Water Department provides service to close to 717,000 people throughout the City of Tampa and unincorporated Hillsborough County. In 2020, we performed nearly 35,000 water quality tests on over 8,000 samples gathered throughout our service area, testing for over 200 potential contaminants.

Ensuring the safe and reliable delivery of drinking water is our top priority. Our dedicated staff at the water treatment plant and in our lab are constantly monitoring and measuring the quality of our drinking water to ensure that it meets all state and federal drinking water requirements.

Drinking Water Quality Report

Each year we produce a Water Quality Report (available in English and Spanish) that explains our water treatment process and identifies contaminants that may be found in our drinking water source prior to treatment.
