TampaGov Awarded 1st Place in the 2002 Digital Cities Survey

The City of Tampa eGovernment Portal, TampaGov.net, received further recognition as one of the nation's outstanding local government web sites, by winning the 2002 Digital Cities Survey in the 250,000+ population category. The annual survey examines how city governments have progressed in adopting and utilizing digital technologies to improve the delivery of services to their citizens.  It receives national recognition in major publications such as the Washington Post's Newsbytes and Yahoo's Finance.

On December 4, the Center for Digital Government hosted a reception honoring the 2002 Digital Cities Survey winners. Approximately 40 individuals including Mayors, City Council Members and Chief Information Officers attended the reception at the Salt Lake Marriott City Center.

Over 300 of the nation's cities were invited to participate in the survey, which groups cities into three categories based on population: More than 250,000, 125,000-250,000, and 75,000-125,000. The 2002 Digital Cities Survey was underwritten by Microsoft.
