Municipal E-Governance Best Practices in Mainland China, Taiwan and the United States

Phase 2: Delegates from Mainland China and Taiwan Visit Tampa (March 12-15, 2008)

During the second phase of the project, eight information officers and specialists from mainland China (Beijing, Hangzhou) and Taiwan (Taichung) traveled to the United States for a two-week study visit. With stops in Washington, D.C.; Tampa, Florida; and Seattle, Washington, the study visit was designed to give these professionals a closer look at e-governance practices in American cities, to focus more deeply on e-governance’s potential for provision of social services and promotion of economic development, and to provide a forum for participants from both sides of the Taiwan Strait to engage in direct dialogue.
