The City of Tampa has been selected as the Center
for Digital Government’s 2007
Best of the Web winner
in the City Portal category. The Best of the Web is
a nationwide annual awards program that evaluates
state, city and local government web sites based
on their innovation, efficiency, economy and
functionality for improved citizen access. The City
of Tampa has consistently done well in the Best of
the Web competition, having previously won in 2002,
and finishing in the top three in 2005 and 2006.
This year, the City of Tampa finished ahead of other top-notch web sites
such as Fort Collins,
Colorado and Las Vegas, Nevada.

Walking with the Mayor -
Keeping Tampa Fit. This free, fun, fitness
walk takes place at Al Lopez Park, located at 4810
N. Himes Avenue. Registration
opens at 6:30 a.m., walk begins at 7:30 a.m. Download the
Solid Waste Department has introduced the "Recycle
Guys" to TampaGov as part of the educational
outreach campaign currently being used nationwide in
several other states. It is designed to raise
the awareness of the
importance of recycling while educating the public
on what can be recycled, how
to reduce waste, and the associated benefits.

The Customer Service Center allows you to report
non-emergency concerns, ask a question or request
city services. City staff will receive and respond to
your request via the internet. This service also
allows you to track your request as it progresses
through city government.
