"From the Desk of Mayor Buckhorn" is designed to give citizens greater insight into the Mayor's Office. Every week, Mayor Buckhorn will offer a snippet of what he's currently working on.

"Last week, we officially launched the "Nehemiah Project," an effort to remove 51 vacant, uninhabitable homes in Sulphur Springs. Abandoned houses are like a cancer in a neighborhood. They become magnets for drugs, gangs, and prostitution, and devalue all of the adjoining properties. Block by block, I am making a commitment to bust the blight and improve the quality of life."
