Mayor Buckhorn played in a pick-up game of wheelchair basketball this weekend at the opening ceremonies of the 33rd National Veterans Wheelchair Games.

"From the Desk of Mayor Buckhorn" is designed to give citizens greater insight into the Mayor's Office. Every week, Mayor Buckhorn will offer a snippet of what he's currently working on.

"Celebrating the opening of the 33rd National Veterans Wheelchair Games reminded me to appreciate the sacrifices made by these brave men and women in order to serve our great country and that they will not be defined by their disabilities. I also learned that wheelchair basketball is not as easy as these guys make it look!"
