Last week, Mayor Buckhorn met with the inaugural class of the Mayor’s Neighborhood University. Over the next four months, the class will learn about the inner workings of City government and participate in a class project.

"From the Desk of Mayor Buckhorn" is designed to give citizens greater insight into the Mayor's Office. Every week, Mayor Buckhorn will offer a snippet of what he's currently working on.

“Last week, we kicked off the first Landlord Training session. The class gives landlords and property managers the opportunity to learn from the beginning what the city expects from them. Good landlords translate to good neighborhoods; it’s that simple.”

Politifact Florida’s Buck-o-meter, which tracks the promises made by Mayor Buckhorn during the campaign, rates his promise to create a landlord training program as a “Promise Kept” now that classes have begun.

9/26: Tampa Bay Times: Tampa council okays $6.5M project to reopen Water Works Park
Tampa City Council approved the contract so that construction can begin on Water Works Park in Tampa Heights.
