"From the Desk of Mayor Buckhorn" is designed to give citizens greater insight into the Mayor's Office. Every week, Mayor Buckhorn will offer a snippet of what he's currently working on.

"As a community, we cannot be bounded by arbitrary lines drawn on a map. The reality is that if Tampa is doing well, the region is doing well, and vice versa. Our mission is to rise together as one community."

11/12: WTSP: New fitness trail won't cost taxpayers a dime
Thanks to Hill Ward Henderson, there are 10 new exercise stations along the Bayshore Fitness Trail. The new exercise equipment came at no cost to taxpayers because of Hill Ward Henderson’s donation. Residents are already enjoying this new equipment.

11/12: Tampa Tribune: Upgraded fitness trail opens along Bayshore Boulevard
Bayshore Boulevard is Tampa’s ‘signature street’ and the new exercise equipment will surely enhance the experience for the hundreds of residents who utilize the park throughout the week.

11/13: Tampa Bay Times Editorial: Opening up a downtown Tampa park on the river
The Tampa Bay Times writes in favor of the City’s goal of redesigning and reshaping Riverfront Park on the western side of the Hillsborough River. By refocusing on the water, combining space for both active and passive uses, as well as adding additional park land, there are a lot of possibilities to enhance the park for the community.
11/14: Tampa Bay Business Journal: Tampa second-best place in U.S. to start a food truck

Mobile Cuisine named Tampa the second best city in the country to start a food truck in. No city loves their food trucks as much as Tampa does!

11/15: Tampa Tribune: Editorial by Mayor Bob Buckhorn: Fix our broken immigration system
Mayor Buckhorn highlights the need for comprehensive immigration reform in an open editorial shared last week. Immigration reform is an economic issue that impacts every major sector of Florida’s economy.

11/15: Tampa Bay Times: Tampa mayor counting on burbs for support and vice versa
Mayor Buckhorn believes that the city’s boundaries are little more than lines on a map, and for the city to succeed in achieving its vision, we need the buy-in from all of our surrounding communities.
