Mayor Buckhorn speaks at the groundbreaking ceremony for SkyHouse Channelside, a new 23-story residential tower in downtown’s Channel District.

"From the Desk of Mayor Buckhorn" is designed to give citizens greater insight into the Mayor's Office. Every week, Mayor Buckhorn will offer a snippet of what he's currently working on.

"Tampa is finally emerging from the uncertainty of the recession as an economic powerhouse, creating more jobs than any other area in the state of Florida in the last year. In order to continue creating jobs and generating new economic opportunities throughout our community, we have to continue growing and bringing new investments to Tampa. I am doing just that in Panama this week."

Last week, Mayor Buckhorn joined the Novare Group and Batson-Cook Development to break ground on SkyHouse Channelside, a new residential building which is expected to add 400 new residents to the Channel District, one of Tampa’s fastest growing neighborhoods.
