This morning, Mayor Buckhorn, Tampa Fire Rescue Chief Tom Forward, Tampa City Councilmembers, and retired firefighters cut the ribbon on the new Tampa Fire Rescue Station #11.
     

"From the Desk of Mayor Buckhorn" is designed to give citizens greater insight into the Mayor's Office. Every week, Mayor Buckhorn will offer a snippet of what he's currently working on.

"This week, Tampa welcomes the International Indian Film Academy Awards to the United States. Let's introduce them to authentic, unique Tampa - from historic Ybor City to our vibrant riverfront."

Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn and Hillsborough County Commissioner Sandy Murman have asked CSX to look into establishing a 'quiet zone' through downtown and South Tampa so that train horns don't wake sleeping residents.

4/17: ABC Action News: City, school system announce Hillsborough Avenue safety improvements
Using funding from red light camera citations, Mayor Buckhorn announced that the City will post new signage as well as retime the lights along Hillsborough Avenue to make it easier for pedestrians to cross. Read more about the plans on tampagov.net.
