At the Tampa Bay Hurricane Expo, Mayor Buckhorn competes against 7 year old Delania in the Hillsborough Fire Rescue challenge. She won!

"From the Desk of Mayor Buckhorn" is designed to give citizens greater insight into the Mayor's Office. Every week, Mayor Buckhorn will offer a snippet of what he's currently working on.

5/29: Tampa Tribune: Franklin Street project highlights Tampa's picturesque views
Last week, Mayor Buckhorn, along with the Tampa Downtown Partnership and Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority, unveiled new public art across South Franklin Street from CAMLS. The new “Frames on Franklin” showcase some of Tampa’s best known landmarks.

5/29: Tampa Bay Times: Tampa's parks system ranked 28th best in U.S.
Tampa's parks system is ranked well. Mayor Buckhorn plans to build on our efforts and continue investing in and activate our parks.

5/29: Tampa Bay Times: Editorial: New skate park will honor Tampa's past
Last week, State Historic Preservation officials gave Tampa the greenlight to move forward with its plans for Perry Harvey Park, including reconstructing the skatepark bowl.
5/30: Tampa Tribune: Editorial: End the Bro Bowl skateboarding standoff

The Tribune writes the city has the “right plan” for the park, which includes event space, a memorial walk honoring Central Avenue history, and a skatepark.

5/30: ABC Action News: Ulele Spring flows freely once again after restoration
For the first time in decades, Ulele Spring now flows freely into Hillsborough River. In addition to the spring restoration, the city is pouring millions into revitalizing Water Works Park.

5/31:Tampa Tribune: Princess Ulele is local history mystery
There are many variations on the legend of Princess Ulele, for whom the spring at Water Works Park was named, but it is a unique part of Tampa culture.
