Tampa Water Department and Publix® Team Up To Help Customers

n the spirit of true community partnering, the City of Tampa Water Department and Publix Super Markets, Inc. have teamed up to help promote water conservation. On Saturday, Sept. 6, representatives from the Tampa Water Department will be distributing a total of 900 free water conservation kits at three local Publix Super Markets between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., or until supplies are exhausted.

Several years of drier than normal weather has put significant strain on the area’s water resources. This joint effort is another opportunity to educate consumers on conservation tips, water restriction guidelines, and provide assistance through the distribution of water saving devices. Each free kit will include a low-flow showerhead, low-flow faucet aerators, toilet leak detection tablets, information on locating leaks, and other materials to help customers reduce their water consumption and possibly lower their water bills.
