Tampa Convention Center Garage Exceeds 100,000 Automated Parking Transactions
The City of Tampa Parking Division recently exceeded 100,000 automated parking transactions at the Tampa Convention Center Garage, located at 200 South Ashley Drive.
In August 2007, the City of Tampa replaced the cashier exit booths with conveniently located central pay stations that accept credit card, currency and coin. Since the start of the automated parking garage equipment initiative, roughly 35 percent of the transactions completed at the garage have been credit card payments, reflecting the usefulness of the automated service for patrons.
The Parking Division is using the phrase “pull, pay, be on your way” in order to assist patrons. Upon entering the garage, pull a ticket from the entry dispenser. After parking your vehicle, proceed to the nearest pay station and pay your $5 parking fee. Prior to exiting the garage in your vehicle, insert your paid ticket into the exit verifier and you will be on your way.
For additional information regarding the City’s automated parking garages, please contact the City’s Parking Manager Jim Corbett at (813) 274-8182 or visit www.Tampagov.net/parking.
