Christmas Tree Recycling

The City of Tampa Department of Solid Waste & Environmental Program Management will be offering free pick up and recycling of Christmas trees.

Trees must be bare (no ornaments, lights or tree stands), and should be placed curbside for removal beginning January 5, 2009. more...

 
Water News: Rule Modification

The Southwest Florida Water Management District modified the requirement to postpone turfgrass renovation contained in Executive Order SWF 08-044. There is now a 30-day plant establishment allowance for sod, plugs and other forms of turfgrass. The modified regional establishment allowance returns Tampa to the establishment restrictions in place under Tampa Ordinance 2006-104.




Department of Solid Waste Hosts Electronics-Only Collection Day


In anticipation of the large number of TVs being disposed of as a result of the digital conversion, the City’s Department of Solid Waste & Environmental Program Management is coordinating an Electronics-Only Collection Day on Saturday, January 10, 2009 from 9 a.m.- 2 p.m. at 4010 W. For Addresses in Tampa ending in:
EVEN NUMBER: Tuesday Only
ODD NUMBER: Sunday only

(Addresses ending in letters:
A-M=Tuesday, N-Z=Sunday)

Watering is allowed between midnight and 8 a.m. or 6 p.m. and midnight.

Outside Tampa City Limits, please visit Hillsborough County's Water Restrictions.

New Construction Permit Fee Schedule

In order to continue to enhance services, the Construction Services Division (CSD) will implement a new simplified fee schedule on January 1, 2009. The results of an independent cost of services study conducted by Maximus Consulting has resulted in a new permit fee schedule that ties our permit fees to an approximate recovery of cost of services rendered.

The annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2009 from 12 - 4 pm. The parade honors Dr. King and also serves as a fundraising mechanism for the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Scholarship.  

Children's Gasparilla Parade
The invasion returns as the Children's Gasparilla Parade and "Piratechnic Extravaganza" take Bayshore by storm on January 24, 2009 from noon to 7:30 p.m. Activities are scheduled along Bayshore Boulevard from Bay to Bay to Watrous/Orleans Ave. more...
