TPD Launches interactive website

The Tampa Police Department is working to reach at-risk kids before street gangs do!  I would like to invite you to check out our new and interactive website at
It’s hosted by former Tampa Bay Buccaneer Warrick Dunn, who we believe will help us target children between the ages of 10-16 years old. This is the impressionable age that kids may glamorize gangs in their minds.
The site uses the technology WAHI, web automated human interaction, which creates the feeling of conversation by custom tailoring responses to each audience member. A convicted gang member talks to the kids and prompts them to answer questions. A parent, business owner, and teacher also discuss their stories.
You may see the website,, posted throughout the community on billboards, buses, newspaper advertising, or public service announcements on television, as part of our marketing campaign. We've been fortunate that so many local businesses were willing to donate their services to help spread the word about
We hope that you, as leaders in our community, will utilize this site and share it with your friends and neighbors. While enforcement will always be the Tampa Police Department's number one priority in combating gangs, we believe this site will help prevent gangs from enticing vulnerable children to join their ranks.
