The Changing of the Guard - When Chief Hogue announced his retirement, he predicted at the end of Jane Castor's tenure she would be recognized as the best Chief Tampa has ever had.  Focusing on the next success is typical of this results oriented leader.  Jane Castor was the natural and obvious choice for Tampa's next Police Chief.
 
The Tampa Police Department Says Good-Bye to Another Innovative Leader - After 31-years of dedicated service to the Citizens of Tampa, Assistant  Chief Bob Guidara has retired.  He will be remembered for his progressive approach to crime fighting.
 
Chief Castor Names Two Assistant Chiefs - John Bennett and Marc Hamlin.  They planned an executed Super Bowl XLIII together - Bennett as the Incident Commander and Hamlin as the Commander at the Stadium.  Now this crime fighting duo is working together as the Tampa Police Department's new Assistant Chiefs. 
 
Honoring our Fallen Heroes - Just eight short years ago, the world gasped as they watched airplanes pummel into the World Trade Center.  Since that day, Americans have come together, never forgetting that day.  The City of Tampa will also remember its own heroes with a  memorial at Cotanchobee Fort Brooke Park on the Downtown waterfront.
 
Tampa Residents Celebrate 26th Annual National Night Out
Lock doors....check, turn on porch lights.....check, join neighbors in the fight against crime....check.  Hundreds of citizens throughout Tampa did these three simple things to show their support for law enforcement during the annual National Night Out.
