Get Professional Help With Sensible SprinklingMan adjusting sprinkler head

Multi-stream rotors, micro-irrigation systems, automatic irrigation controllers with non-volatile memory, moisture sensing devices, and cycle durations. Understanding the technologies, materials and operations available to assist you in having a more water efficient irrigation system can be daunting, making it difficult to know where to start.
The Tampa Water Department wants to help its customers get the most out of their water while irrigating. The department provides free Sensible Sprinkling Irrigation Efficiency Evaluations to qualifying residential and commercial customers with in-ground irrigation systems to help them grow aesthetically pleasing yards while achieving better use of their water.
Irrigation experts provided by the department make on-site visits and evaluate the efficiency of participants’ irrigation systems. Following the evaluation, participants are provided a detailed written report that includes:
  • A seasonal sprinkling schedule for each zone;
  • Alternative ways to reduce water use, such as reducing grass areas where appropriate;
  • Site specific recommendations on improving water efficiency and reducing water use; and
  • A free rain sensor, if applicable (installation included).
Evaluation requests will only be accepted until June 30, on a first available basis as funding remains available.
To request a free evaluation of your irrigation system or for more information on the Sensible Sprinkling Irrigation Efficiency Evaluation Program, call the Tampa Water Department at (813) 274-8121 or visit our website at TampaGov.net/SaveWater.

Know Your Day. Avoid A Fine.

The City of Tampa recently moved from the long standing odd or even address irrigation schedule to a new day-of-the-week irrigation schedule determined by the last digit of the property address. Do you know your day?

Assigned irrigation days and other water use restrictions are subject to change in response to water supply conditions and actions taken by the Southwest Florida Water Management District.

Restrictions apply to all water resources except reclaimed water, including but not limited to: public, private, well, pond, lake, and harvested rainwater.

Knowing and following water use restrictions can help you avoid a costly violation fine.
