In preparation for the 2006 Annual Gasparilla Invasion and Pirate Fest, members of Ye Mystic Krewe "kidnaped" the mayor from city hall, demanding the key to the city. This annual event kicks off the invasion and parade scheduled for January 28, which will again draw hundreds of thousands of residents and visitors to downtown Tampa.
