Opening Festivities for New Exhibit

On Friday, March 25, the Ybor City Museum Society will host festivities in two locations to celebrate the opening of a special exhibit, The Women of Ybor: 125 Years of Influence,at the Ybor City Museum State Park.
The celebration, titled "Día y Noche" begins at 5:00 p.m. with a concert at the Centro Asturiano by noted pianist, Olga Kuehl-White who will perform España, Opus 165, a suite of six pieces by Spanish composer Albéniz. Presented by Carol and Terry Parssinen and sponsored by the Centro Asturiano, the concert is free and open to the public.
Immediately following the concert, festivities will continue from 6-10 p.m. just a few blocks away, in the Mediterranean-style garden of the Ybor City Museum State Park. Lissette Campos will serve as mistress of ceremony for a program of cultural entertainment, a special presentation, and a sneak preview of the exhibit. As the sun begins to set, "Noche" will begin with Salsa dancing lessons and upbeat Latin Music. Appetizers, beer, wine and other refreshments will be served. Admission is $10 for advance purchases at www.CLtampa.com/women and $15 at the door.
