  6/23/11 Interbay pool to re-open for the summer
  Mayor Buckhorn allocated funding to re-open the Interbay pool to give parents and their children another recreational option for the remainder of the summer. The pool will officially re-open on Wednesday the 29th. It will operate Wednesday through Friday from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. Read more
  6/22/11 Neighborhood Tree Watch Program launched
  The City of Tampa in partnership with THAN launched the Neighborhood Tree Watch program. The program is designed to empower neighborhoods through education about tree codes, species, proper placement and assistance in identifying violations. Read more
  6/22/11 Mayor Buckhorn helps make the case for Shriners convention
  The mayor joined Hillsborough County Commissioner Al Higgenbotham and citizens from all over Tampa in a video produced by Tampa Bay and Company to help bring the Shriners International Convention back home to Tampa for their 2016 Imperial Session. The conference would be one of the largest conventions the area has hosted utilizing about 16,000 hotel room nights. The Shriners selected Tampa in 2006 and Mayor Buckhorn is hoping to welcome their group back as part of his larger mission to bring more business to Tampa.
