  1/3/12 Top Story: Four new trucks roll in for Mayor’s Food Truck Fiesta
  The holidays may be over, but Mayor Buckhorn is making sure you have something to look forward to tomorrow, Wednesday, Jan 4. Four new trucks will join a lineup of crowd favorites for the Mayor’s Food Truck Fiesta. Vendors will serve up delicious, diverse dishes from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in downtown Tampa’s Lykes Gaslight Square Park. You won’t want to miss AmericanWeiner’s special creation for the event, The Buckhorn, which is an all beef wiener with chili, cheese, and pickled jalapenos. As the name suggests, the Mayor personally picked the ingredients! See the entire truck line-up.

  According to a recent Bay News 9/Tampa Bay Times poll, Tampa residents are looking forward to the economic benefits expected from the Republican National Convention this August.   12/28/11 Tampa Bay Times: Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn off to good start, but expectations are high
 

Last week, the Tampa Bay Times reported that two thirds of poll respondents were satisfied with the job Mayor Buckhorn has been doing since taking office last April. In this editorial, the Tampa Bay Times highlights some of the Mayor’s accomplishments thus far: 

"Still, Buckhorn deserves credit for deftly sparing police, parks and neighborhood improvement projects from the worst effects of the fourth-consecutive year of declining property values. He has been out and about, raising the visibility of the mayor's office and projecting a mentality that the city is moving forward. And he has followed through on two major campaign promises. The administration is looking at ways to make the bureaucracy more responsive to business and it is taking a comprehensive look at how to redevelop the downtown-area neighborhoods."
