1/18/12 Top Story | Tampa Tribune: Lights to illuminate downtown bridges
Mayor Buckhorn and TECO president Gordon Gillette unveiled a plan to light four of downtown Tampa’s bridges – the Brorein Street Bridge, Kennedy Boulevard Bridge, CSX Railroad Bridge, and the Platt Street Bridge. This project, entitled "Agua Luces," is part of the popular "Lights on Tampa" program.

"The Hillsborough River and our historic bridges are two of Tampa's treasured assets, which is why we have invested in opening the river to the people," said Tampa Mayor Buckhorn, announcing the project during a news conference Tuesday. "(This project) will draw attention to these assets, highlight their beauty, and stimulate economic activity throughout downtown." Read more in the Tampa Tribune

Boy. Sounds like an actual city there.” Continue reading in the Tampa Bay Times.
