Rough Riders St. Patrick's Day Parade
Saturday, March 17, 2012
The annual Rough Rider's St. Patrick's Day Parade will roll through Ybor City this Saturday, March 17, 2011 starting at 8:00 pm. The parade begins at 7th Avenue and Nick Nuccio Parkway, proceeds east on 7th Avenue, north on 20th Street and disbands at Palm Avenue. Staging for the event will take place at 4:00pm on Cass Street (west of Nebraska) and Nick Nuccio (between Nebraska and Palm). 7th Avenue will remain open until about 3:00 pm when the street will begin closing and pedestrian barricades installed to prepare for the parade. 15th Street will remain open until shortly before the parade starts.
Per the event sponsor's permit application, vendors will be allowed to operate this Saturday, March 17, 2012 from 4:00 pm until 2:00am. Private property vendors must first contact the Land Development Coordination Office at 813/274-8405 prior to the event to obtain a permit. Then, vendors must obtain a business tax receipt from the City 's Business Tax Division at 813/274-8751. Deadline to obtain permits is Thursday, March 15, 2012 at 4:00 pm.
Parking and Streetcar
On street parking on 7th Avenue and side streets between Nick Nuccio and 21st street will be available until 3:00pm and will be signed accordingly. The Centro Ybor and Palm Avenue Parking Garages will be open during the day and evening. The TECO Line Streetcar will operate throughout the event and has extended their hours that evening until 2:00am the next morning.
Alcoholic Beverage Policy:
The event area is NOT WETZONED. Therefore, the consumption of alcoholic beverages is prohibited on public streets and sidewalks. IT IS UNLAWFUL FOR BUSINESSES TO SELL OPEN CONTAINERS OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES IN OR ONTO THE PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY. ALL GLASS CONTAINERS ARE PROHIBITED.
