4/20/12 Top Story | Tampa Bay Times: Restoration of historic Tampa courthouse as boutique hotel gets go-ahead
Tampa City Council voted to approve the City’s lease agreement with the team of developers that will be rehabilitating downtown’s classic Federal Courthouse. The courthouse is a historical landmark, but it has been vacant for the past 14 years costing the City money to maintain it. The developers will transform the building into a boutique hotel.

"We're just really enthused about what we can make happen with this beautiful old courthouse," said Gary Prosterman, the owner and principal of Memphis-based Development Services Group, the lead company in the team chosen to restore the courthouse. "I think of all the real estate projects I've been involved in, this will be the most fun in terms of 'before' and 'after' photos." Read more.

4/19/12 New Tampa Patch: New fire station opens
For the first time in over ten years, the ribbon was cut on a new fire station in Tampa. Tampa Fire Rescue Station 22, located on Cross Creek Boulevard in New Tampa, was built with grant money from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and incorporates many sustainability features.

“A six-minute response now could be a three-minute response time,” said Capt. Lonnie Benniefield, public information officer for Tama Fire Rescue. Read more.
