This project provides for repair and rehabilitation of City owned bridges, both movable and nonmovable. There are 41 City owned bridges that need to provide safe access for all modes of traffic: vehicular, pedestrian and bicycle. Bridge repair is identified in both the bi-annual bridge inspection reports by the Florida Department of Transportation and via City inspections. It is essential that these deficiencies be addressed in order to slow deterioration and high repair costs in the future. This project provides for the repair and replacement of bridge elements including pedestrian bridges with such elements as repair/replacement of decks, fender system, mechanical and/or structural element repair. Also includes repair/replacement or integral pile jackets, joints, spall repair, rip-rap, steel clean and paint handrail repair, crack injection, and miscellaneous work. Bridge lighting may need repair/ replacement. Many of the small bridges require deck repair / replacement.
