(F05) $21.88 - $32.17 an hour     $54,612.48 - $80,296.32 a yearNATURE OF WORK: Performs responsible fire rescue supervision involving the command of an Advanced Life Support Unit and is responsible for all medical care given at the scene of a medical emergency until relieved by a Senior Medical Officer. Maintains proficiency in combat firefighting skills.
QUALIFICATIONS: (a) Six (6) years of service with Tampa Fire Rescue including three (3) years of experience as a Paramedic (F-4) with some knowledge of supervisory techniques. Employees with 5 and/or 2 years of experience respectively may apply and will become eligible when attaining the required 6 and 3 years of experience.
(b) Must currently be a Paramedic (F-4) to sit for exam and to be promoted.
(c) Successful completion of 24 college credits (15 of which must be in the area of fire science/administration, emergency medical services, business or public administration, or industrial education with a major in fire science/administration).
(d) Successful completion of a college level course in personnel management.
(e) Approval by the Tampa Fire Rescue Medical Director.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATES:
-State of Florida, Bureau of Emergency Medical Services, certification as a Paramedic. -Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License.
NOTE: All of the required education for eligibility purposes must have been obtained prior to the close of business, November 9, 2009. Required experience must be obtained by the date of the test.
EXAMINATION:
Written - 90% (Multiple choice 40%, In-Basket 20%, Counseling 20%, Tactical 20%) Education – 10% (Submit all applicable transcripts and certifications with application.)
