(S13) $47,840.00 - $71,593.60 a year

PURPOSE: This is responsible supervisory work involving parking meter collections and regulations enforcement.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plans, assigns, supervises, and revieww the work of subordinate personnel involved in performing on-street parking activities.

  • Supervises the collecting of money from municipal parking meters and the issuing of citations for vehicles violating the municipal parking ordinances.

  • Oversees and participates in the initial preparation of work schedules by subordinate supervisors, establishes work priorities and evaluates results achieved.

  • Recommends, develops, and implements improved collection and enforcement methods, techniques, practices, and procedures.

  • Exercises reasonable initiative and independent judgment in conducting checks and reviews to ensure that work is performed in compliance with established procedures and instructions provided.

  • Tact, courtesy, and impartiality are required in contacts with the general public and in receiving and responding to on-street parking requests and complaints.

  • Prepares the annual budget for on street parking functions to be included in the subdivision’s budget.

  • Recommends employment, promotions, transfers, discipline, demotions, and dismissals of subordinate employees as necessary.

  • Responds to employee grievances; completes employee performance evaluations and reviews those completed by subordinate supervisory personnel.

  • Reviews personnel actions initiated by subordinate supervisors and approves, disapproves, or modifies.

  • Ensures that subordinate employees receive appropriate orientation and training

  • Performs additional duties relating to the successful execution of the position.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Graduation from an accredited high school or vocational school and three (3) years experience in parking regulations enforcement to include six (6) months supervisory experience, and one (1) year experience in collecting and accounting for money; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES:

Satisfactory completion of a 40 hour training program established and approved by the Florida Police Standards and Training Commission under the provisions of section l316.006, Florida Statutes. Possession of a valid Florida driver’s license. Submit photocopies with application.
