Police Lieutenant

SALARY RANGE:

(P10) $44.90 - $48.76 an hour     $93,392.00 - $101,420.80 a year


Nature of Work: Performs supervisory and technical police work in exercising specifically assigned administrative and command functions in any of the services or field-division units of TPD.

Qualifications:

(a) One (1) year of experience as a Police Sergeant.

(Individuals with less than 1 year may sit for the exam.)

(b) Successful completion of three (3) years of college (90-semester or 136-quarter hours).

(Individuals with 75 semester hours may sit for the exam)

NOTE: All of the required experience must have been with the Tampa Police Department.

Examination:

  • 80% Written Test (Weighted - 80% multiple choice; 20% In-Basket).

  • 10% Education

  • 10% Seniority
