SALARY RANGE:

(F04) $18.85 - $30.90 an hour     $47,049.60 - $77,126.40 a year


NATURE OF WORK:

Performs a variety of responsible firefighting and rescue tasks, which include driving and maintaining emergency equipment. Irrespective of rescue assignment, employees must maintain their combat firefighting readiness as they are subject to deployment in that capacity. Is responsible for the maintenance of drugs and equipment including inventory of stocks. Performs CPR and other emergency medical procedures; takes individuals’ vital signs. Maintains records and submits reports as required. Work is usually performed on a twenty-four-hour shift, including weekends and holidays.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Eligibility to Take Exam: Current employment with Tampa Fire Rescue in a sworn capacity.

  • Eligibility For Promotion: One (1) year of employment with Tampa Fire Rescue in a sworn capacity. Approval by the Tampa Fire Rescue Medical Director.

    LICENSES/CERTIFICATES:

  • Current State of Florida, Bureau of Emergency Medical Services certification as a Paramedic.

  • Possession of a valid Florida driver’s license.


    SOURCE MATERIALS FOR EXAM: Test will be drawn from the following resource materials:

  • Current Collective Bargaining Agreement

  • TFR Daily Station Lesson Plans

  • Standard Operating Guidelines

  • Rules and Regulations


    EXAMINATION:

  • Written - 100%

  • Education and Seniority points added after a grade of 60% is obtained.
