SALARY RANGE:

(N30) $44,595.20 - $66,788.80 a year

JOB PURPOSE: The selected candidate will perform responsible management analyst work in a centralized budget and financial planning office. The Fiscal Analyst is an entry-level position of average difficulty.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serves as fiscal analyst for assigned departments.

  • Prepares auditorís requested information for review by Budget Office management.

  • Prepares and review legislative packages for financial information prior to submission for Administration and City Council consideration.

  • Prepare and review financial resolution legislative packages that amend the Cityís operating and capital budget for Administration and City Council consideration.

  • Participates in preparation and control of annual operating budget.

  • Consults with department management in the formulation, analysis, review and control of individual department budgets.

  • Conducts cost analysis and budget impact studies and surveys.

  • Participates in the management of various federal, state and local grants.

  • Participates in the issuance of debt instruments.

  • Using the Cityís financial reporting and budgeting system to prepare, review and analyze various fiscal reports for assigned departments and/or City administration.

  • Performs related work as required.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelorís degree in accounting, finance, public or business administration or a related field, preferably with one (1) year of budgetary or responsible financial records keeping experience.

    EXAMINATION:

    Evaluation of training and experience. Drug testing is included in all pre-employment medical processing.
