Police Lieutenant

SALARY RANGE:

(P10) $45.80 - $50.73 an hour     $95,264.00 - $105,518.40 a year


Nature of Work: Performs supervisory and technical police work in exercising specifically assigned administrative and command functions in any of the services or field-division units of TPD.

Qualifications:

(a) One (1) year of experience as a Police Sergeant.

(Individuals with less than 1 year may sit for the exam.)NOTE: All of the required experience must have been with the Tampa Police Department.

(b) Successful completion of three (3) years of college (90-semester or 136-quarter hours).(Individuals with 75 semester hours may sit for the exam)

All candidates must submit a copy of their degree or transcript (with signature and/or seal affixed) prior to the closing date. This also applies to candidates who may have applied for past examinations. The transcript or diploma may be scanned and attached via upload to the online application or forwarded via email to careers@tampagov.net.

NOTE: Applications and associated documentation must be received no later than September 5, 2014. All submissions received after this date will not be processed.

  • 80% Written Test (Weighted - 80% multiple choice; 20% In-Basket).

  • 10% Education

  • 10% Seniority
