Environmental Specialist I

SALARY RANGE:
(N30) $44,595.20 - $66,788.80 a year

JOB PURPOSE: The selected candidate will performs tasks in support of various environmental planning and other activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGES, ABILITIES AND SKILLS:
Considerable knowledge of: environmental health and safety; environmental regulations including applicability, inspection, enforcement, and the manner in which they impact municipal ordinances.
Working knowledge of: current conservation methods and equipment.
Ability to: express ideas clearly and concisely, orally and in writing; keep records and prepare narrative and statistical reports; independently conduct research and analysis of data via collecting, assimilating, analyzing, and interpreting data and drawing sound conclusions; use tact and diplomacy at all times; use of personal computers and software; establish and maintain effective working relationships with business community, civic and public groups, other employees, representatives of various governmental and regulatory agencies, and the general public; lift 20 lbs. may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelorís degree in environmental studies, science, education or a related field; OR, an associateís degree with some additional course work in the area of environmental regulation, physical, or environmental sciences or a related field and three (3) years of experience in environmental conservation, environmental education or investigation for environmental compliance; or, an equivalent combination of training and experience.

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES:
Possess of a valid Florida driverís license. State of Florida professional teaching certificate is desirable.

EXAMINATION: Evaluation of education and experience. Drug testing is included in all pre-employment processing.
