e.Republic’s Center for Digital Government and Digital Communities magazine have named the most advanced digital cities in America. The cities were chosen from the results of the ninth annual Digital Cities Survey, which examines how municipalities incorporate information technology into operations which better serve citizens engaging with local government.

City Receives Over $2 Million In Monthly Online Payments

Reflecting the continuing growth in popularity of the City's ecommerce services, the City of Tampa has passed the two million dollar ($2,000,000) milestone in payments received online for a single month. For the month of July 2008, the City received $2,110,818 in combined online payments for business tax receipts, construction express permits, monthly parking permits, museum memberships, parking tickets, police reports and utility payments.
