UPDATE #2: Water Service Outage for Tampa Water Department Customers
Tampa, Fla. (Feb. 23, 2013) – Water quality staff began testing at 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2013. Crews are testing 25 samples taken from different points throughout the City of Tampa water service area.
Testing takes 24 hours. The precautionary boil water notice will not be lifted for any customers within the City of Tampa water service area until at earliest Sunday morning.
Based on the water quality test results, an update will be sent early Sunday morning for customers who can discontinue the precautionary boil water notice.

A power failure affecting the City of Tampa David L. Tippin Water Treatment Facility resulted in either temporary low pressure or loss of water service for customers on Friday, February 22, 2013. All customers within the City of Tampa water service area are requested to follow a precautionary boil water notice until water quality testing can be completed.
