CTTV’s ¿Qué Pasa Tampa? Makes the Switch to English

Tampa, FL March 8, 2013 - Nine years to the day after it originally debuted on City of Tampa Television (CTTV), ¿Qué Pasa Tampa? introduced its first ever episode in English. For the better part of a decade, ¿Qué Pasa Tampa? has showcased the rich Hispanic flavor and culture of our city - though completely using Spanish language. The program’s producers feel that the time has come to share the show’s message with a broader audience.

¿Qué Pasa Tampa? really is Tampa's show,” explains host Adri Colina, a Tampa native herself. “Being able to share with our viewers all that Tampa has to offer is so important. I'm amazed at how much I learn every time we film a show about this city that my parents, grandparents and I were all born and raised in. We are so fortunate and should proudly showcase it all."

¿Qué Pasa Tampa? is a travelogue, visiting Tampa’s hidden treasures, exploring its vast culinary culture, examining its rich history and meeting the people who make it special. On the current program, Adri takes viewers behind-the-scenes of The Oxford Exchange - Tampa’s latest buzz-worthy destination. Tampa Riverwalk Development Manager Lee Hoffman tells how the project is connecting the Hillsborough River to the people. Rodney Kite-Powell, Tampa Bay History Center’s Saunders Foundation Curator of History, discloses details about the man behind the name at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park and also fills in details regarding cool historical monuments now located on the Riverwalk.

¿Qué Pasa Tampa? can be seen on Sundays at 2:30pm, Mondays at 10:30am, Tuesdays at 5:30pm and Fridays at 9:30pm. CTTV is Channel 15 on the Verizon FiOS system and Channel 615 on Bright House Networks.
