MEDIA ADVISORY PHOTO OPPORTUNITY - Sugarman Sculpture Finds New Home in Channel District
 
Tampa, FL April 1, 2013 - WHAT:

The untitled Sugarman sculpture is being relocated to the Channel District today. The public art piece will sit in the center of the roundabout just north of the Florida Aquarium.

The untitled sculpture was commissioned in 1985 by NationsBank, now Bank of America. Previously, the sculpture sat near the intersection of Kennedy Boulevard and Ashley Drive in downtown. It was donated to the City of Tampa by America’s Capital Partners to become part of the public art collection.

The painted sculpture is 36 feet tall and made of steel and aluminum. Most of the labor and materials to disassemble, store, and move the sculpture as well as to prep the new site have been donated. The sculpture will be repainted after installation is complete.

WHEN:

The Sugarman sculpture is being assembled throughout the week beginning today, Monday, April 1, 2013.
