Tampa Police Investigate Possible Human Trafficking at Tampa Massage Parlor The Clearwater Human Trafficking Task Force, FBI, Department of Health Department, MacDill Air Force Base and Tampa Fire Rescue assisted in the investigation
3/21/13
LOCATION: Ocean Health Spa, 3631 Henderson Boulevard An anonymous Crime Stoppers tip in October 2012 led detectives to the Ocean Health Spa on 3631 Henderson Boulevard. On two occasions, undercover officers entered the spa and were offered sex acts for money. A subsequent Health Department Inspection discovered multiple mattresses and personal belongings in a back room. On 3/21/13 at 2:? pm, Tampa Police detectives along with the FBI and the Clearwater Human Trafficking Task Force executed a search warrant at the spa to determine if there are victims or suspects involved in human trafficking. A Korean interpreter from the MacDill Air Force Base is interviewing the women working in the facility. The Health Department will determine if the employees are licensed massage therapists. Detectives seized evidence during the search warrant and the investigation is ongoing.
