Detectives Investigating an Attempted Sexual Battery

WHEN: 4/29/2013, 2:08 a.m.
WHERE: Tampa Coin Laundry, 5814 North 40th Street, Tampa
VICTIM: 27 year- old, B/F
SUSPECT: B/M 25-30 years old, dark skinned, faded black t-shirt, no pants, ski mask w/holes for the eyes
DETAILS: Tampa Police officers are searching for a suspect who attempted to sexually batter a woman while she was doing laundry at the Tampa Coin Laundromat. The victim was outside smoking a cigarette when an unidentified black male appeared from behind a nearby dumpster. She went back inside and the suspect came up behind her, tackled her to the ground and tried to sexually assault her. The victim believes that the suspect was armed with a sharp weapon. She was able to fight the suspect off of her and he ran away from the scene.
Tampa Police officers arrived on scene and started an extensive search for the suspect, which included K-9 teams and Air Service. The search for the suspect is still on going.
