Police Searching for Missing Woman

Tampa, FL June 4, 2013 -
Family holding vigil for the victim

VICTIM: Misti Whitfield, 07/07/1977, W/F, 6707 North 10th Street, Tampa,

DETAILS: Misti Whitfield was last seen walking home at the intersection of West Hillsborough Avenue and North Rome Street on 5/2/13 at 10 p.m. Whitfield has disappeared in the past due to addiction to alcohol and drugs, but she has never been gone so long without contacting her family. She also did not contact her mother on Mother's Day which is out of character. A family friend reported her missing on May 14th and detectives have been actively investigating her disappearance. Police fear for her safety and encourage anyone with information about Whitfield to call the Tampa Police Department.

Family members and friends of missing woman Misti Whitfield will hold a candlelight prayer vigil beginning at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, at McCall Park, Historic Downtown Plant City.
