Runners Remember Fallen Officers

19th Annual Tampa Police Memorial 5K/1-Mile Run-Walk

WHERE: Lykes Gaslight Park, 411 N. Franklin St., Tampa, FL
WHEN: October 12, 2013 @ 8 a.m.

Details:
Mayor Bob Buckhorn, Chief Jane Castor and The Tampa Police Department invite the public to participate in the 19th Annual Tampa Police Memorial 5K/1-Mile Run-Walk. The Memorial Run-Walk starts in Downtown Tampa at Madison St. / Franklin Street, heading down Bayshore Boulevard before finishing back in Downtown Tampa at Madison Street / Franklin Street Proceeds from the event benefit the Police Museum, Memorial Scholarship Program, Charity Donations and Tampa Police Memorial Improvements.

Highlights
•Chief Jane Castor will run with a group of 30 officers. Each of the 31 officers will be running in memory of one of the 31 individual fallen officers. This group of officers will be wearing a memorial armband imprinted with each fallen Tampa Police Officer’s name and black t-shirts
•TRT displays American flag while repelling down the police building
•Police Helicopter fly over
•Mini Vendor Expo on Franklin St Mall and in Gas Lykes park
•Food by Columbia Restaurant and Sweetbay
•Door prizes, give-a-ways, refreshments by Fresh, Pepsi,
