Basic CERT Training Class Offered to City of Tampa Citizens
 
October 18, 2013 - There will be a basic CERT training class starting on Monday, October 21, 2013. The class will be held on the following dates (attendance required at all sessions):

Mon 10/21 from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm
Sat 10/26 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Mon 10/28 from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm
Sat 11/02 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Mon 11/04 from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm
Sat 11/09 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm**

Location: All classes will be held at Tampa Fire Rescue Training Center, (116 S 34th Street, Tampa FL, 33605), with the exception of **Saturday, November 9, 2013 which will be at Eastlake CERT after their Missing Child Drill Training. (John Chestnut Park,220 East Lake Rd S. Palm Harbor, FL)

This class is a mix of classroom information and outdoor hands-on activities. Dress is casual comfortable with a chance of getting dirty and sweaty during outside activities. Gloves and eye protection are recommended.

The purpose of the course is to provide citizens with the basic skills needed during a major disaster. This training will allow graduates to respond to the immediate needs of their community in the aftermath of a major disaster - the time when emergency services may not be immediately available.

To register for this class, please send an email to certclassinstructor@gmail.com including your name, as you would like it to appear on your CERT certificate and a daytime contact phone number.

All training materials will be provided free of charge. Please arrive 15-20 minutes early the first day in order to fill out the necessary paperwork. Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes.
