Tampa, FL November 7, 2013 - This month on Spotlight Tampa, Mayor Buckhorn helped break ground at Water Works Park in Tampa Heights, where an exciting restoration project is underway. We also get an update on the final segment of the Riverwalk that leads to that park. Invision Tampa, the city’s long-range plan for urban development, focuses on two of the city’s business thoroughfares - Nebraska and Hillsborough Avenues. We meet this year’s Water-Wise award winner and witness how his yard is an example of outstanding Florida-friendly landscaping. The Tampa Museum of Art features the works of three iconic environmental photographers in an exhibition entitled “Fragile Waters.” We learn about another innovative way that parking in Tampa has gotten a whole lot easier. MOSI named one of the nation’s most brilliant scientists the National Hispanic Scientist of the Year. We get a behind-the-scenes look at how your trash is turned into energy at the McKay Bay Waste-to-Energy facility. HART’s MetroRapid north-south service is picking up speed with Hillsborough County bus riders. And we learn about a public safety partnership that helps Tampa Fire Rescue crews better able to respond to any emergency. Spotlight Tampa replays on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7am, Sundays at 4:30 pm, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4pm, Saturdays at 8pm, and Monday through Friday at 10pm.
