Advanced CERT Training Class Offered to Current GTCERT Volunteers
 
April 1, 2014 - There will be an Advanced CERT Training class offered to current CERT Volunteers starting Thursday, June 5, 2014 at the Tampa Fire Rescue Training Academy (116 S. 34th Street).Completion of the Basic CERT class is a pre-requisite for this class.

Attendance in all the classes listed below is recommended but not required.

Thursday 06/05 from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm
Saturday 06/07 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Thursday 06/12 from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm
Saturday 06/14 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Thursday 06/19 from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm
Saturday 06/21 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Topics for this class include but are not limited to: Ropes and Knots, packaging of patients, relocating patients, anchor systems, lifting and lowering systems, HAZ-MAT, CISM, Search and Rescue.

Students will need a section of utility rope about 25 to 50 feet long for learning the knots.

This class is a mix of classroom information and outdoor hands-on activities. Dress is casual comfortable with a chance of getting dirty and sweaty during outside activities. Gloves and eye protection are recommended.
