City of Tampa, Design Team to Hold Second Planning Session with Community for Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park Master Plan
Tampa, FL June 2, 2014 - The City of Tampa and design team, led by Denver-based firm Civitas, Inc., will hold the second community planning session for the redesign of Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park. At the meeting, residents and key stakeholders will have the opportunity to review and comment on preliminary conceptual ideas for the park based on initial feedback gathered during the first public meeting.

The second community meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at 6 p.m. in the cafeteria at Blake High School, located at 1701 North Boulevard. This meeting is free and open to the public.

Over the course of the design phase, the City of Tampa and design team will hold four public meetings and will continue to speak with residents and key stakeholders to insure all interested parties have an opportunity to help reshape Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park. In addition, a digital forum for discussion and sharing of ideas about Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park has been set up at youinvisiontampa.com.

Previously, as part of the InVision Tampa Center City plan, Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park was identified as a public space in need of reshaping into a program-driven park with both active and passive uses for the community. In addition the design team will look out how to improve access to the park from both N. Boulevard and Laurel St., with potential realignment of Laurel St. to run more parallel to I-275, adding additional acreage to the park space.
