Mayor Pam Iorio hosted the second of four town hall meetings for 2005 on Tuesday evening at Chamberlain High School. The meeting drew nearly 200 people from the surrounding neighborhoods including Armenia Gardens, Forest Hills, Lowry Park Central, North Tampa, Rivergrove, Sulphur Springs and University Square.

During the meeting, Tampa’s strategic goals, projects and initiatives were discussed. Several departments were on-hand to provide information and answer questions raised by the attendees. The Neighborhood & Community Relations Department produced handouts relating to projects in the region including parks and recreation, stormwater, code enforcement and police.

The regional town hall meetings are being held in an effort to make city government more easily accessible to Tampa's citizens.

The next town hall meeting is scheduled for August 16, 2005, at Middleton High School, located in East Tampa.
