Tampa, FL September 22, 2006 - The City of Tampa Parks and Recreation department invites all interested residents to attend a public meeting on the Perry Harvey Sr. Park Master Plan on Thursday, October 5. from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. at the Central Park Auditorium, located at 1000 India Street.
The Tampa Parks and Recreation department is currently developing a Master Plan for Perry Harvey Sr. Park. The plan will serve as a guide for the park’s future needs and improvements. The master planning process is a collaborative effort between the city, community and stakeholders. At the public meeting, city staff will make a brief presentation on the park’s history, current conditions and future influences. Following the presentation attendees will be asked to share their ideas. In addition, comment cards will be available for those who wish to submit their suggestions and questions in writing. Perry Harvey Sr. Park is an 11-acre park located just east of downtown Tampa at 1201 Orange Street. The park has a picnic shelter, basketball courts, athletic fields, a play unit and a concrete skate bowl.
This is the first of three public meetings the Tampa Parks and Recreation department will hold on the Perry Harvey Sr. Park Master Plan. The other public meetings will be held on Saturday, October 14, at 10 a.m. and Monday, October 23, at 5:30 p.m., to present the draft conceptual plan for public review. All the public meetings for the Perry Harvey Sr. Park Master Plan will be held at the Central Park Auditorium.
