City's Black History Committee to Hold 19th Annual Black History Celebration
 
January 17, 2007 - Join the City of Tampa's Black History Committee for the 19th Annual Black History Celebration on Friday, February 2, 2007, at 11 a.m. at the Tampa Convention Center, Ballroom D, located at 333 South Franklin Street. This year's theme is Celebrating the Community: A Tribute to Black Fraternities, Sororities and Civic Organizations.

 The program promises to be one to remember with the keynote address by Civil Rights and Community Activist Mary Alice Dorsett and performances by Bernard Jackson II and Kayla Hill. WFLA Channel 8 Reporter Rod Carter along with DeAnna Sheffield of Big Brothers & Big Sisters will emcee the festivities. Mayor Pam Iorio will be there to acknowledge the many contributions African-Americans have made to Tampa and to recognize several city employees for their dedication to the community.
