| City to Commemorate Manhattan Avenue Completion with Ceremony |

WHAT: To mark the completion of the Manhattan Widening Project, Mayor Pam Iorio and community leaders will participate in a ceremony to flip the switch changing the signals from the flash pattern to a regular
traffic cycle.

WHERE: Intersection of Manhattan Avenue and Bay Vista Avenue (Signal box near Bel Mar Presbyterian Church)

MORE: Manhattan Avenue roadway was widened from two to four lanes from Euclid Avenue to Gandy Boulevard. The $9.3 million project included sidewalks, drainage and signal improvements as well as landscaping and irrigation. Funding for the project was provided by local option gas tax with supplemental funding from city utilities for the necessary utility work associated with the project. The contractor for the work was R.E. Purcell Construction and completion of the project is approximately three weeks ahead of schedule.
