| Mayors to Place Friendly Wager on USF vs. UCF Football Game |
| |
Tampa, FL October 11, 2007 - As the University of South Florida Bulls prepare to go head to head with the University of Central Florida Knights, the mayors make a friendly wager. Tampa Mayor Pam Iorio and Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer have placed a wager on the outcome of Saturday’s game. Now becoming an annual tradition, Mayor Dyer has placed a Darden meal on the table while Mayor Iorio has offered up Tampa’s famous Cuban sandwiches from the world renowned Columbia Restaurant.
The Bulls will host the Knights at Raymond James Stadium on Saturday, October 13, 2007 at noon.
Last month Mayor Iorio hoisted a banner on the side of the Tampa Municipal Office Building in downtown to show the city’s support for the Bulls, while declaring the day Green and Gold Day. To further demonstrate the city’s enthusiasm, Mayor Iorio has declared each Friday before a home game Green and Gold Day in Tampa encouraging all fans to show their Bull pride by wearing USF gear or school colors on October 12, November 2 and November 16.
