Tampa, FL March 18, 2008 - It's more than the rhythm. It's more than the dancing. It's more than the music. It's stepping. Over 400 children will Step to the Beat at the City of Tampa Parks and Recreation Department’s 10th Annual Step Festival. The step show takes place at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 5 at the Martinez Sports Center, located at 318 North Boulevard.
Merriam Webster's Collegiate Dictionary defines step as “to move by raising the foot and bringing it down elsewhere or by moving each foot in succession,” stepping involves much more than that. Stepping incorporates cheerleading, military, and drill-team moves.
Admission is $5 for ages 3 and up and tickets may be purchased at the door. For more information, contact Regina McBride-Smith with the City of Tampa Parks and Recreation Department at 813.274.7717.
